Recently I discovered that this blog has been blocked at work. All this while I had no problems accessing any Blogspot websites from the office (not that I browse blogs at work all the time *ahem*), so this was unexpected. So this means my blog is popular enough to catch the attention of the firewall guys right? Ooh... *stride proudly feeling important*

Isn't there like a keyword blocking thingy instead of a direct block of a particular website? Hehehehe, i'm of course, trying to pierce your self-important bubble here. I'm sure boardgamegeek has been block as well.
not sure how they do the blocking. my blog was not blocked for quite some time, so it doesn't seem to be purely by keyword (unless they only recently added some keywords). can't be by domain either, because i know some blogspot sites are not blocked. i'm suspecting maybe there's some central repository storing all blocked URL's / subdomains.
oh yes, boardgamegeek is definitely blocked, ever since the blocking started.
the keyword is game. just as like parliament malaysia and my office, u can't access to any website that contain a keyword with game or games. they do this to blocked off people playing games in FB.
i suspect it may not be as simple as just filtering for keywords, because my blog used to be accessible for a very long time. it was only recently blocked. it may be a combination of keywords, perhaps also frequency of such keywords, perhaps also how popular it is in google search results based on certain keywords.
I think your blog was blocked by the keyword "18xx". Once you wrote the report for 18TN, this blog is likely flagged as a ahem 18xx site! Not the 18xx we knew, but the other 18xx. ;)
Worst.. you then followed up with Kids of Carcassonne. So one+one ie 18xx+Kids = ??
LOL. Just kidding....
oh my god... now i realise i might have sounded like michael jackson...
hahahahahah.....
