Button Shy Games is running a competition now, and the theme is cultural holidays. They specialise in publishing microgames using exactly 18 cards. This competition follows this same rule. You must use exactly 18 cards for your game. I was initially unsure whether I could design a decent enough game in time, since I knew I would be busy with work leading up to the deadline. The game I worked on is Winter Solstice. It is a game for 3 to 6 players. I managed to get it playtested, and it worked well enough. I tidied it up and submitted it. I had another idea based on Qi Xi - that traditional love story. It was a 2-player game. I didn't manage to progress much on that. The results will be out in Feb 2024. Button Shy is well known now, and the competition is fierce. Let's see.
